Finally!! My new parachute rig arrived!!
So far I’ve only flown it a handful of times, but nothing compares to having a custom fit rig on your back.
The material is still all very stiff and obviously fresh off the assembly line (which I visited back in February in DeLand, Florida).
I cannot wait to break it in.
Even more, I am glad it arrived in time for my August trip to the Mountain Gravity Boogie in Switzerland!
Last month I jumped a personal record with 33 jumps in a month and managed to hit the 300 mark. April has been week-after-week of clouds and rain and this-and-that. Despite the speed bump, I am quite satisfied with this month because I finally got to push my mom out of a plane! (more…)
And the video is released! There is a short and long version, though I personally feel the short version is a bit more exciting. In any case getting to experience shooting some cool stuff for a commercial has been a fantastic experience.
Going into the 3-day weekend, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to make my 300th jump. Day one and two together only got me to a grand total of 4 jumps bringing me 6 jumps shy of the mark. By some divine act on the third and final day, the sky opened up and so did the slots.
First up on the first load at 9. One slot open on the 10, then another on the 11 o’clock.
All by chance really, I had run into the opportunity to participate in a marketing campaign for Audi. They are celebrating challenging the images we may have about different things like food or skydiving by combining things we may never associate together. (more…)
The air-worthiness inspection is done and the Tokyo Skydiving Club is open again for business. I packed my bags and got everything sorted on Friday night… Only to wake up late on Saturday morning. (more…)
About the time I down-sized my canopy from a 150 to 135, I changed out the connection between my risers and lines from a rapid-link to a soft-link.
